Scholarships Available Through The Air Cadet Foundation of British Columbia

Scholarship applications are open annually on January 15th and close on April 30th at midnight. Good luck!

Initial Application must be made using the online form at the end of this document. Once received, we will email you a detailed fillable form for you to complete.

This detailed form MUST be returned to our office no later than midnight April 30th.

The Air Cadet Foundation of BC (ACFBC) members recognize the financial pressures faced by students pursuing studies in aviation and aerospace and are pleased to provide over $50,000 worth of scholarships for the ensuing year. With the critical shortage of human resources faced by the aviation industry, a focus on scholarships are the main goal of the ACFBC.

Students can apply for cash awards ranging from $3,500 to $7,500. Winning any scholarship is a valuable addition to your resume, especially because the ACFBC Scholarship Committee consists of dedicated individuals and their review of applications is extremely thorough. Reference letters, transcripts and a complete application are particularly important to the Scholarship Committee; explaining why you require financial assistance is also expected. Applications are treated in the strictest of confidence.

General criteria for each scholarship are listed below, with any additional required details listed under the individual scholarships.

You must fill out the initial application form (also below) and select the category you are applying for.

There are four general Scholarship Categories:

  1. Pilots
     – Private Pilot Scholarship

     – Commercial Pilot Training Award
  2. Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (AMEs)
  3. Aviation and Aerospace Operations and Management
  4. General Including Aerospace and Flight Attendants

Results of each year’s submissions are announced before the end of June, payment is made to the school attending or individual by the end of August, and certificates are awarded by the Air cadet Foundation of BC at a Squadron CO’s parade.
