Scholarship Opportunities for BC Air Cadets
Before applying for a Scholarship, make sure that you have met all the requirements set out in both the Basic Criteria and Specific Requirements in the category you are applying for.

Scholarship Applications must be made using the online application forms:
Step 1 – PRELIMINARY SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION
After submitting the Preliminary Application, applicants will be sent, within 3 business days, a unique ID Number which is required to complete Step 2.
Step 2 – MAIN SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION
Make sure that the ID number you received is entered on the Main Application form and also on all submitted documents.
Some tips to follow - Make sure that:
- You have completed all the required sections in the application.
- You have attached any reference letters and transcripts as a complete application is particularly important to the Scholarship Review Committee and most of all,
- Your application with all your attachments is submitted by the deadline.
The Scholarship Review Committee is extremely thorough when reviewing applications. Applications are treated in the strictest of confidence.
Results of each year's submissions are announced by mid May. Payment is made to the Educational Institution or Flight School attending by the end of August. Certificates will be awarded by the Air Cadet Foundation of BC, either at a Squadron parade night or, with the permission of the Squadron Sponsoring Committee and Commanding Officer, at the Annual Ceremonial Review.

Basic Criteria – Applies to all Five Scholarship Categories
Applications must be received by midnight on the closing date.
- These awards are provided to young aspiring BC Air Cadets, between 17-19 years of age, or qualified aged out cadets who are passionate about pursuing a career in the Aviation Industry.
- Applicants may only apply for ONE Scholarship within any given year.
- Applicants who received a scholarship in the prior year may apply for a different scholarship in the current year provided that all the criteria have been met.
- Applications for aged out cadets will be accepted within twelve months of their 19th birthday or, under special circumstances, at the discretion of the Scholarship Selection Committee.
- Applicants must have completed at least three years of Air Cadet Squadron training.
- Scholarship training must occur in Canada.
- Funds will be paid to the Educational Institution or Flight School upon receipt of invoice.
- Letters of recommendation from personal contacts are very helpful to include in your application.
- Volunteer work in the aviation and / or aerospace sector will be considered in the selection process.
