GENERAL INCLUDING AEROSPACE AND FLIGHT ATTENDANT TRAINING
Two Scholarships of $2,500 each
Basic Criteria
- These awards are provided to young aspiring BC Air Cadets, between 17-19 years of age, or qualified aged out cadets who are passionate about pursuing a career in the Aviation Industry.
- A statement from the applicant must also be included indicating why they should receive the award, their scholastic and personal achievements, and their goals.
- Must demonstrate financial need.
- Applicants must have completed at least three years of Air Cadet Squadron training.
- Applications for aged out cadets will be accepted within twelve months of their 19th birthday or under special circumstances at the discretion of the Scholarship Selection Committee.
- Each applicant must attach a letter from the Squadron Commanding Officer identifying:
- Number of training years completed
- Most recent rank and any awards obtained
- Summer training camps attended
- Number of years of ground School attended
- If Glider or Private Pilot licence obtained
- Letters of recommendation from personal contacts are very helpful to include in your application.
- Volunteer work in the aviation sector will be considered an asset.
- Training must occur in Canada.
- Applications must be received by midnight on the closing date.
Specific Criteria for General Including Aerospace and Flight Attendant Scholarship
- Intent to enroll in an aviation or aerospace program at a post-secondary institution in British Columbia.
- Shows an interest in aviation and aerospace and has demonstrated a commitment to complete their training in that field.
- Has an academic grade average of 75% or higher.
- An academic transcript must be included.
- Demonstrates achievement in community involvement.
- The applicant must demonstrate, Maximum 200 words, how the training will contribute to their aviation career including the following:
- My Vision of the Future of Aviation in the Next 20 Years
- Why Aviation is Critical to British Columbia
- Why Aviation is My Passion
- Demonstrate commitment to continue with training to obtain certification, diploma, or degree.
Provide as much information as you can for the Selection Committee – the better your presentation, the more opportunity for success your application will have. Incomplete applications will not be considered and will be rejected. Ensure that all required attachments are included.
