1) PILOT SCHOLARSHIP

Private Pilot Scholarships
Three Private Pilot Scholarship Awards @ $5,000 each

Commercial Pilot Flight Training Award
Two Commercial Pilot Flight Training Awards @ $7,500 each

  • These awards are provided to young aspiring BC Air Cadets, between 17-19 years of age, or qualified aged out cadets who are passionate about flying.
  • For fixed or Rotary Wing Private Pilot License or Commercial Pilot Training.
  • Has an academic grade average of 75% or higher.
  • Must provide transcript of marks.
  • Must show some commitment to training and finishing, such as showing a dedicated interest in aviation, a commitment to complete the program, completed ground school and/or completed a minimum of 10 hours of flight training.
  • Include a recommendation letter from a Transport Canada certified flight school advising on applicant’s potential to complete the program.
  • Funds will be paid in two instalments to the flight school upon receipt of invoice.
  • Actively engaged in private pilot training or recently received a PPL.
  • Demonstrates achievement in community involvement.
  • Demonstrate financial need.
  • Must demonstrate a strong desire to complete training and become an airline commercial pilot.
  • The student must be registered with, and capable of taking flying training at, a Transport Canada Certified flight school in Canada.

2) AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE ENGINEERS (AME) SCHOLARSHIP
Two Scholarships @ $3,500 each

  • These awards are provided to young aspiring BC Air Cadets, between 17-19 years of age, or qualified aged out cadets who are passionate about pursuing a career in the Aviation Industry.
  • The student must be actively pursuing training, or accepted as an AME student.
  • Has an academic grade average of 75% or higher.
  • Must provide transcript of marks.
  • The candidate must demonstrate a strong desire to complete training and become a certified AME by covering the following points in Section 5 of the Application form:
    •  My Vision of the Future of Aviation in the Next 20 Years
    •  What I Want to Achieve as an AME
    •  Why Aviation is Critical to British Columbia
    •  Why Aviation is My Passion
  • Demonstrate financial need.
  • Demonstrates achievement in community involvement.
  • The applicant must demonstrate how the training will contribute to their aviation career.

3) Aviation and Aerospace Operations and Management
Airports Operations/Management Training
Two Scholarships of $3,500 each

  • These awards are provided to young aspiring BC Air Cadets, between 17-19 years of age, or qualified aged out cadets who are passionate about pursuing a career in the Aviation Industry.
  • Intends to register at an educational institution in one of the above disciplines or;
  • Must show acceptance into a recognized training or technical course.
  • Has an academic grade average of 75% or higher.
  • Must provide transcript of marks.
  • Demonstrate commitment to continue with training to obtain diploma, degree or certification.
  • Demonstrates achievement in community involvement.
  • Extra consideration will be given to those who express interest in taking a practicum or internship at an
    airport outside of the Lower Mainland.
  • Demonstrate financial need.
  • Must describe their desire to complete training and pursue a career in airport management or operations.
  • Volunteer work in the aviation and aerospace sector will be considered in the selection process.

4) General Including Aerospace and Flight Attendants
Two Scholarships of $2,500 each

  • These awards are provided to young aspiring BC Air Cadets, between 17-19 years of age, or qualified
    aged out cadets who are passionate about pursuing a career in the Aviation Industry.
  • Intent to enrol in an aviation or aerospace program at a post-secondary institution in British Columbia.
  • Has an academic grade average of 75% or higher.
  • Must provide transcript of marks
  • Demonstrate commitment to continue with training to obtain certification, diploma, or degree.
  • Supports education in any recognized field related to aviation and aerospace.
  • Demonstrates achievement in community involvement.
  • The student should demonstrate how the proposed education will benefit their career.
  • Shows an interest in aviation and aerospace and has demonstrated a commitment to complete their training
    in that field.
  • To assist anyone working on or near an airport in British Columbia with pursuing further studies that are
    intended to advance their aviation or aerospace career, broadly defined.
