Squadron History
In 2014, to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the Air Cadet League of Canada in 2016, the BCPC Historians Bob Burchinshaw and Mike Symons started a project to document the histories of BC’s Air Cadet Squadrons. At that time, no one truly anticipated the volumes of information that would be needed to complete this project in time for the 75th Anniversary Celebration. As a result, thanks to the thousands of volunteer hours by people like you and I, it has been an ongoing project that is continually growing as every year goes by.
This “Feature Squadron of the month” presentation is merely a sampling of the information that the BCPC Historians and the SSCs from each squadron have been able to compile. It is our sincere hope that moving forward, new SSC and BCPC members can use this information to get insights into the individuals that contributed to developing and building Canada’s Premier Youth Development Program in BC and the challenges they encountered while doing this.
We invite you to enjoy the journey with us and to contact us if you wish to contribute additional information or pictures about any squadron that may have been missed or overlooked.
Donations to the Foundation to keep this Feature Squadron of the month accessible will be greatly appreciated.
